Grey Skies. It’s another one of those days where inertia threatens, unproductive behavior looms, and catatonia seems inevitable. However I must proceed. Ahead lie conversation with a gorgeous girl, where ideas are exchanged and life, love and career is discussed. Purpose prevails. I wrestle with complacency, stirred by the thought of a pretty girl divulging her hearts desires. As I sip pre-boiled tea (someone suggested pouring my cup right before the water boils) steeped overnight for full flavor, I will let you guys get to know HTM’s newest inductee. “Hey everyone, nice to meet you all! My name is Nikki Giovanni.” Say hello guys.
I have Nikki to thank for winning my battle with paralysis. I am now up and alert with my focus on her. We have spoken several times and yes I like her… “I would say that many people admire my huge heart,” she tells me. “I am very compassionate and will go out of my way to help someone in need that is a complete stranger to me.” It’s this endearing heart that expresses a desire to see the world change. “I believe that a lot of changes need to take place in today’s crazy world. I would love for people to become more aware of their surroundings. I would love to see advanced awareness is animal neglect and abuse. Putting an end to inhumane treatment of animals would be a wonderful thing.” It would appear that the pretty lady has put some thought into this. “I’m sorry of it sounds like some kind of ‘line’ from a beauty pageant,” she explains. “But it’s true.”
Nikki currently resides in Franklin Square, NY but is originally from Great Neck. “There are tons of fantastic stores and there is a lot to do where I live,” she says. “New York never sleeps!” As this convo continues, Nikki’s energy is making my day brighter. Grey clouds give way to blue skies and I feel like going outside. Could I convince Nikki to join me? Where would she want to go? “Every woman ‘must’ go to the Mall of America at least once. It’s the closest thing to heaven on earth.” Oh… well I don’t know if I want to shop but we can eat. “As far as cuisine,” she says, “I am very open mind and love trying new things from different cultures.” That’s good for her because I’m not so adventurous with my tongue. “The one thing I refuse to ever eat is an insect! Yuck!”
Beachside dining is also a favorite for the New York native. “It can be very romantic too,” she says about eating next to the ocean. Throw in a sunset or a sunrise and I would have to agree. “The absolute worst thing that could go wrong on a romantic date is if the man is incapable of maintaining a conversation.” This is where I do get adventurous with my tongue… I love talking to sexy women. “Some men these days are WACK,” Nikki announces. “There are very few things as unattractive as a man who lacks general social skills! Gentlemen take note… contrary to popular belief; we women DO need mental stimulation as well!” Note taken. Stimulation engaged.
I must confess to being stimulated by her conversation as well as physical attributes. “I find that men admire my Bahamian booty,” her words charged by memory. “After all men are ‘visual creatures.’” And that we are so no need to hide my admiration of her sexy frame she maintains. “I have multiple gym memberships but I never am able to find the time to go and workout,” she tells me. “I am very active in my daily life, so I’m maybe that’s why I am still in pretty decent shape.” Yes she is… “I never deprive myself of great food,” she continues, “I’m not going to lie; I definitely eat like a horse.” This makes me nervous as I picture Nikki with a large plate of food in front of her open mouth. “If I do happen to gain weight, it goes straight to my behind…which I’m not going to lie is fantastic,” she says with a laugh and I am put at ease with thoughts of her fantastic… well you know.
“Some men have admitted to being remotely intimidated by my sexiness but they have fessed up to being much more intimidated by my independence,” Nikki points out. “I find that one of men’s primal instincts is that they desire to be needed. Some men love an independent woman, but others are extremely intimidated by it. It all depends on the man and his security level.” I’m secure but yes… all I want is to be needed. Suddenly I feel so vulnerable. Could I trust a girl like Nikki with my heart? If I held out could she seduce me with those eyes and pouty lips? “Nothing is sexier than being comfortable in your own skin,” she confides the key to a good seduction. “Confidence is the sexiest possession a woman can encompass.” I was thinking boy shorts and a tank top. But I could be wrong.
I never gave much credence to the science of astrology until now. “I am a Gemini and the description of one fits me perfectly,” she says. “Gemini women are often entrepreneurial. Gemini women also seek a partner who is as intellectually stimulating as he is sexually attractive and one who is mobile, versatile and not possessive.” Sounds like she’s describing me but I could be so lucky. “We Gemini’s are charming, polite and soft-spoken, sensitive, funny and humorous, we tend to daydream often and we’re full of ideas!” And now I’m full of ideas…
One idea I have is to send her on a trip just to see her smile. “If I were offered a free weekend to unwind, my ideal destination would be St. Martin with a beautiful, normal man.” We’d probably never agree on what is ‘normal’ however I was interested in her definition of beauty. “Physical beauty fades away as we age,” she explains. “My definition of real, true, eternal beauty comes from within. Beauty lies with the soul. If you are a kind hearted, generous, compassionate human being then you are more beautiful than the world’s most famous supermodel. I always say ‘Beauty is only skin deep, true beauty lies within.’”
The Italian- Bahamian beauty has many hidden treasures and talents. “One of my many hidden treasures is my brain. You would probably never suspect that a model could actually be intelligent as well,” she delivers with a chuckle. “Many people think that modeling is the only career that I have but I have multiple careers ranging from EKG/Phlebotomy Technician to makeup artist, to model. I have developed a growing interest in photography as well. I am a firm believer that one should never put their eggs all in one basket! I don’t know about you, but early retirement is in my near future!” But that’s not all. “I also have a voice that is out of this world and I would love to work with Sony Records or another top record label one day in the near future to produce my music.”
Outspoken these days she wasn’t always like this. “In my younger years, I used to be very shy and quiet,” Nikki admits thoughtfully. “As I became a teenager I realized how awesome of a person I really was and that’s when I started coming out of my shell and became more outgoing.” Her close friends would be the ones to verify her transformation. “I can count my childhood friends on one hand. I am very selective on who I surround myself with.” Because they have supported her she never forgets them. “I always take care of my closest friends and make sure that they reap some of the benefits too! My girls and I have access to the hottest venues and some of the most “happening” events out there from movie premiers to red carpet events.” Hopefully she’ll call me a friend and take me along. I should be so blessed. Thank you Nikki for brightening up my day.
“The universe has always been my catalogue and I specifically placed an order for a successful modeling career for myself. That’s exactly what I’ve been blessed with.” – Nikki Giovanni
