An Angel In New York Featuring Xenia Siamas
On a warm, sunny (perhaps too sunny) afternoon in a section of midtown Manhattan called Murray Hill, I was visited by an angel. This angel told me things about myself that I knew yet seemed new coming from her lips. I was severely sleep deprived so this could have easily been a hallucination. It wasn’t. We spoke of life and astrology while perched on the private deck of a penthouse suite in William Rogers Hotel. The Empire State Building stands sentinel against the city around us. I felt at ease with the Grey-eyed Greek beauty. I wanted to know as much about her as she did of me.

Her given name is Xenia Siamas, however her spirit defies a title. She is effortlessly personable and her ability to connect to the person across from her is remarkable. “I enjoy learning about others and I think that most people feel comfortable to know I take an interest in their lives,” she explains of what both men and women admire in her. “I always ask both men and women to tell me about themselves.” Any scene, like this one, will quickly become just you and she. On the deck of the penthouse, seclusion and intimacy was the centerpiece of our meeting. As she tells a story of challenge and triumph, I am reminded of my own storied past, which I remain hesitant to divulge. Not without prodding from Xenia, however I held firm to my obscurity and continued to extract all that I could from this beautiful girl in what allotted time was presented.

“My career is my life,” she says to me. “Even when I’m not working: I am.” “I was very different,” says Xenia of her childhood years. “An old soul even as a kid, deep and complicated in many respects.” On this day, under the assault of an overzealous sun, she is still deep… still complicated. “My passion,” begins the lithe brunette, “…for acting is motivated by an internal complexity. I am many different people and they’re all locked up inside me. Acting is my release.” I can’t help but think of her ability to be anything at anytime all I know is I like who she is now. “I am a ball buster; persistent and stubborn; I stop at nothing until I get exactly what I want.”
What she wants now has grown beyond modeling. “Modeling got booorring…,” Xenia admits. “I now only do TV commercials, beauty and cosmetic ads, feature films and TV episodics. Outside this business entirely I love traveling, cooking and watching my doggy play.” Incidentally, her precious pooch is the one thing in this world she can’t live without.
A fascinating creature both sexy and perceptive; “I am very emotional and very psychic,” she says believing, as do I, that all humans are psychic. “I scare myself but it helps me with everything I do… like my secret weapon I can tell what a person’s next move will be.” In regards to myself, I purposely ignore my ‘psychic readings’ as they too scare me… all knowledge compels me to react so there are some things I shouldn’t know. Xenia also has “strong family values, personal devotion in all I do and a love for meeting interesting people.” I hope I'm interesting enough...
I couldn’t pinpoint her nationality, which I loved. She told me she was second generation Greek, which I also loved, and was born in Montreal, Canada. Living in New York for the last eleven years, Xenia still represents Montreal. “Home is where the heart is!” The best thing about NYC for the Canadian transplant is “It never sleeps. Literally.” Something I too learned making NYC my favorite place to visit. New York is also my favorite city to shop. “I am a sucker for bargains and vintage clothing. High-end, overpriced clothing turns me off,” Xenia explains her own shopping habits. “I don’t have a specific store or city; I buy what I like when I see it. I’m attracted to cool low rider jeans, Frye boots and cool wife-beaters with masculine undertones.
As the blazing sun beat down upon us, remarkably it is fall feeling like summer, our conversation about life continued. At one point I began to see a future where Xenia and I would be friends; perhaps close friends. I have come to value friendship above all other relationships… even family is better when you’re friends. Disagreements come and go; it’s all in how they’re handled. “I would forgive you if you genuinely learned from the mistake you made and were humbled by it,” says my new found friend. “If I saw you were sincerely sorry, I would forget all about it. Everyone makes mistakes.” Forgiven and forgotten: I sense no perfidy in her declaration. To this day, she is still in touch with childhood friends who couldn’t imagine Xenia in another line of work. I am in complete accord.
We may not be friends the way I would like but I would nevertheless extend a friendly offer of a free getaway to unwind, every pretty girl deserves pampering. “The French Polynesia: Fiji,” is her destination of choice. So many of the girls say “somewhere warm with lots of sand” but Xenia knows exactly where she would go. Besides with her as a Sagittarius and I as Aquarius, we are soul mates. May be there is a chance we will indeed become close friends. I can see myself being eternal friends with a sexy girl who wishes to “end terrorism” and says her best compliment is she’s a “good cook.” I love to eat in peace.
With several television pilots complete and feature film appearances including one opposite Kevin Spacey in Casino Jack, Xenia is seasoned for a great future in entertainment. “[My] dream job is as “Marvel Comics” property; I want to play an action hero.” A reoccurring role on One Life to Live, a superb job as ‘Sasha’ in Dave Rodriguez’s 'Push' and a three picture deal with Titan Worldwide Entertainment, I am in the presence of a rising star as bright as the sun above us. Discovered in South Beach while on vacation, Xenia had no early influences for modeling but as an actress she has many: Marilyn Monroe, Bridgette Bardot, Sophia Loren are on top of her list.
As I look at her I can imagine guys being a bit hesitant in expressing their desires to her. I wanted to know if she noticed them being intimidated by how sexy she is. “YES,” she says with emphasis, “and I like it.” So maybe she is a little sadistic… I can deal with that. “I’m approachable yet witty and sassy,” noting her admirable points for men. She defines beauty as “confidence” and says the key to a good seduction is “sensuality.” Our little intimate meeting draws to a close and I am momentarily stuck not wanting her to leave but impatient to be alone with my laptop, my thoughts, and her memory and present her to you. Here she is. Look for more from Xenia Siamas. HTM.
