Yellow Peril: The $1 Million Rolls-Royce Phantom by Bijan

Iranian-born fashion designer Bijan once epitomized the ultimate in awful and awfully expensive style. His by appointment only Beverly Hills boutique, opened on Rodeo Drive in 1976, was routinely described as the most expensive store in the world. That whiff of exclusivity helped boost a perfume business that brought in billions of dollars, allowing the designer to amass an impressive supercar collection including a Bentley Azure, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Ferrari 430, Bugatti Veyron and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, many of them painted Bijan’s signature shade of yellow. Now Rolls is producing a special limited edition version of the designer’s Phantom for like-minded vulgarians.
Simon Cowell Superyacht Slipstream Available for Charter

Slipstream, the superyacht American Idol creator Simon Cowell spent his summer lounging around on is now available for charter with rates starting at about $450,000 per week – though if you want the full luxury package including private chef that Cowell opted for, be prepared to pay around twice that amount. The 196-ft. craft can accommodate 12 guests plus a crew of 14 and features mirrors above a giant waterbed, a Jacuzzi, an observation lounge with panoramic views, gym and a sky lounge with a retractable roof.
Koenigsegg CCX Edition

This is the Koenigsegg Edition. The automaker maintains that no other supercar offers sheer drivability with the efficiency of the CCXE. Tofinou 12 Sailing Yaght by Philippe & Goyard

Having designed the coolest megayacht on the high seas Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko’s “A” – refined freak Philippe Starck has turned his attention to a much smaller but no less stylish craft. His latest project is a version of the Tofinou 12 sailing yacht from France’s Latitude 46 boatyard, employing precious woods, leather and steel in his own unique aesthetic to complement the teak, mahogany, carbon fibre and Kevlar underpinnings. Due to be unveiled at next month’s Paris Boat Show, he four-berth weekender features twin carbon wheels which Starck has wrapped in luxe leather.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled its 1:1 scale model of the Biome concept car ~ their entry into this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge: 1000 pound car designed in their Carlsbad studio. Honestly, it’s one thing to dream up the future on paper/screens, another to make scale models… but to see the life size version is spectacular!
