Dennis Hopper, the twisted-up mind behind the cult classic “Easy Rider” passed away in May, and his Venice, CA compound is now up for sale (of course he would live in a compound). When it was first built, and this was typical of the gritty Hopper, the neighborhood was a notorious gang territory, but it has since been gentrified (bittersweetly for some, we're sure).

The property consists of three houses – an open, barn-style main house and three, smaller guest houses designed by the iconic-in-a-different-way, Frank Gehry. The entire property adds up to 15,500 square feet, and also includes a 100-year old cottage and lap pool (pictured above).

The main house was designed and completed by architect Brian Murphy, and can be bought with the pool and pool house for $3.95 million. The other three Gehry townhouses can be purchased individually for prices between $750,000 and $1.05 million apiece. Check it out here.
